Advantages:
Low losses.
Little maintenance is required.
Installation is easy.
Able to work under ordinary atmosphere.
Disadvantages:
Short service life ranging from 8 to 10 years.
If voltage exceeds the rated value, chance of damage is more.
Once the capacitors are damaged, their repair is uneconomical.
