Definition of "common centroid" |
a technique in the physical design of integrated circuits in which two transistors, which must be matched, are actually composed of multiple devices connected in parallel. By appropriately connecting the multiple devices, the effective center (“centroid”) of the two transistors can be located at the same point, thus improving the matching in the presence of nonidealities in the integrated circuit fabrication process. |
