Definition of "complex number" |
Consists of two parts, real and imaginary. They obey the ordinary laws of algebra except that their real and imaginary parts must be equated separately. / (1) a number consisting of a real part and an imaginary part, usually expressed in the form a+bi, where the “i” is used to distinguish that b represents the complex part of the number. i is mathematically defined as the positive root of −1. |
