Definition of "Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum" |
Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum is used in radion transmission, it alters, or modulates, the signal by spreading it over a wider frequency, generating what seems like signal noise to anything except the device that is designed to reassemble the signal. / Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access is one of two approaches to spread spectrum modulation for digital signal transmission over the airwaves. In direct sequence spread spectrum, the stream of information to be transmitted is divided into small pieces, each of which is allocated across to a frequency channel across the spectrum. / Ultrahigh Frequency designates the ITU radio frequency range of electromagnetic waves between 300 MHz and 3 GHz also known as the decimetre band or decimetre wave as the wavelengths range from one to ten decimetres; that is 1 decimetre to 1 metre. Radio waves with frequencies above the UHF band fall into the SHF or microwave frequency range. |
