Definition of "Dual Port RAM" |
A single RAM that can be accessed simultaneously from two different ports. A dual port RAM has one set of SRAM cells and two independent sets of addressing logic, called ports. The RAM cells may be read or written by either side independently and simultaneously. Some dual port ICs monitor access and won't allow the same cell from being accessed by both ports at the same time. / Dual Port RAM is a type of Random Access Memory that allows multiple reads or writes to occur at the same time, or nearly the same time, unlike single-ported RAM which only allows one access at a time. / A small power-supply brick with integral male plug, designed to plug directly into a wall outlet called a wart because when installed on a power strip it tends to block up at least one more socket than it uses. These are frequently associated with modems and other small electronic devices which would become unacceptably bulky or hot if they had power supplies on board there are other reasons as well having to do with the cost of UL certification. |
