In a received signal, the variation (with time) of the amplitude or relative phase, or both, of one or more of the frequency components of the signal. / Fading is deviation of the attenuation affecting a signal over certain propagation media. / A coating defect consisting of the condition in a colored coating where the color, either transparent or opaque, appears to get lighter or bleached out.
