In electrical or electromagnetic devices, a general term used to designate collectively all the electric or magnetic lines of force in a region. The measure of the strength of a field of force in a specific area. A solution that removes surface oxides from metals being soldered. / In metallurgy, a flux (derived from Latin fluxus meaning “flow”), is a chemical cleaning agent, flowing agent, or purifying agent. Fluxes may have more than one function at a time. They are used in both extractive metallurgy and metal joining. / (1) lines that indicate the intensity and direction of a field. Intensity is usually represented by the density of the lines. |
