Definition of "Geostationary" |
A geostationary orbit requires that the satellite be in an orbit directly above the equator and approximately 22 236 miles above sea level. A geosynchronous orbit means that the orbit period of the satellite is the same time period of the sidereal rotation period of the Earth. / A transmission from an end user to a server. An upstream transmission can be in the form of a signal being transmitted from a workstation to a server across a network, such as a LAN, or a signal being sent from a customer to a cable service provider. |
