Definition of "Ground Loop" |
The condition of having two or more ground references in a common system. When two or more grounds have a potential difference between them, current can flow. This flow of current is a new circuit or loop which can interfere with the normal operation of the system. / An unwanted current that flows in a conductor connecting two points that are nominally at the same potential but are actually at different potentials. Read more on Ground Loops. / In an electrical system, a ground loop usually refers to a current, almost always unwanted, in a conductor connecting two points that are supposed to be at the same potential, often ground, but are actually at different potentials. / Computer-mediated communication is defined as any communication that occurs through the use of two or more electronic devices. While the term has traditionally referred to those communications that occur via computer-mediated formats, example, instant messaging, email, chat rooms, it has also been applied to other forms of text-based interaction such as text messaging. Research on CMC focuses largely on the social effects of different computer-supported communication technologies. Many recent studies involve Internet-based social networking supported by social software. / an undesired conductive path between two conductive bodies in a radial grounding system that are connected to a common ground. |
