Integrated Drive Electronics (Advanced Technology Attachment). A series of standards released between 1999 and 2005 which defined the electrical and mechanical interfaces between a personal computer's mother board and a Hard Disk Drive. Maximum bus speed of the IDE bus is 133MBps over an 18 inch Parallel cable. The IDE interface is also known as the ATA interface.
