Definition of "Inductive Coupling" |
The transfer of energy from one circuit to another by virtue of the mutual inductance between the circuits. Coupling of two coils by means of magnetic lines of force. In transformers, coupling applied through magnetic lines of force between the primary and secondary windings. / a means of transferring electrical energy from one part (area) of a circuit to another part without requiring any ohmic (wire) connection. Instead, magnetic flux linkages couple two inductors (coils). The coils must be in close proximity in order to establish sufficient mutual inductance. |
