Definition of "Isolation Amplifier" |
An amplifier placed between two circuits to lessen the effect one circuit has on the other. Some times called a buffer amplifier. An isolation amplifier could be a unity gain amplifier, or buffer circuit. / Isolation amplifier are a form of differential amplifier that allow measurement of small signals in the presence of a high common mode voltage by providing electrical isolation and an electrical safety barrier. / Fan-in is a term that defines the maximum number of digital inputs that a single logic gate can accept. Most transistor-transistor logic gates have one or two inputs, although some have more than two. A typical logic gate has a fan-in of 1 or 2. |
