Definition of "Ladder Topology" |
Ladder topology, often called Cauer topology after Wilhelm Cauer inventor of the elliptical filter, was in fact first used by George Campbell inventor of the constant k filter. ampbell published in 1922 but had clearly been using the topology for some time before this. Cauer first picked up on ladders published in 1926 inspired by the work of Foster in 1924. There are two forms of basic ladder topologies; unbalanced and balanced. Cauer topology is usually thought of as an unbalanced ladder topology. / MOSFET, pronounced MAWS-feht is a special type of field-effect transistor that works by electronically varying the width of a channel along which charge carriers flow. The charge carriers enter the channel at the source, and exit via the drain. The width of the channel is controlled by the voltage on an electrode called the gate, which is located physically between the source and the drain and is insulated from the channel by an extremely thin layer of metal oxide. |
