Definition of "Limiter" |
A device that prevents (limits) a waveform from exceeding a specified value. A device in which the voltage or some other characteristic of the output signal is automatically prevented from exceeding a specified value. / In electronics, a limiter is a circuit that allows signals below a specified input power to pass unaffected while attenuating the peaks of stronger signals that exceed this input power. / OC-12 is a network line with transmission speeds of up to 622.08 Mbit/s payload: 601.344 Mbit/s; overhead: 20.736 Mbit/s. OC-12 lines are commonly used by ISPs as Wide area network connections. While a large ISP would not use an OC-12 as a backbone, it would for smaller, regional or local connections. This connection speed is also often used by mid-sized internet customers, such as web hosting companies or smaller ISPs buying service from larger ones. / (1) an equipment or circuit that has a function to keep output power constant. It can also be used to protect other circuits not to be overdriven. |
