[LRU] An LRU is the lowest possible unit to be replaced within the system component during site level maintenance activities. It is a separate, installable physical package performing a single function or group of closely related functions. / Lowest Replaceable Unit is a modular component of an airplane ship or spacecraft or any other manufactured device that is designed to be replaced quickly at an operating location. An LRU is usually a sealed unit such as a radio or other auxiliary equipment. LRUs are typically assigned logistics control numbers or work unit codes to manage logistics operations. / A full-duplex master-slave synchronous serial bus, pronounced S-P-I or spy.
