Definition of "Magnetic Microphone" |
A microphone in which the sound waves vibrate a moving armature. The armature consists of a coil wound on the armature and located between the pole pieces of a permanent magnet. The armature is mechanically linked to the diaphragm. / A magnetic microphone consisting of a diaphragm acted upon by sound waves and connected to an armature which varies the reluctance in a magnetic field surrounded by a coil. Also known as reluctance microphone; variable-reluctance microphone. / Very High Frequency range of the radio spectrum is the band extending from 30 MHz to 300 MHz. The wavelengths corresponding to these limit frequencies are 10 meters and 1 meter. |
