Definition of "nominal voltage" |
A nominal value assigned to a circuit or system for the purpose of conveniently designating its voltage rating. The actual voltage at which a circuit operates can vary from the nominal within a range that permits satisfactory operation of equipment. A suitable approximate value of voltage used to designate or identify a System. / Voltage of a fully charged cell or battery when delivering rated capacity at a specific discharge rate. The nominal voltage per cell is 2V for Lead Acid, 1.2V for Nickel Cadmium, 1.2V for Nickel Metal Hydride and 3.9V for Lithium Ion (small cells only). / a number given to a system to name its classification of voltage, such as rated values. |
