In electronics, an optoisolator, also called an optocoupler, photocoupler, or optical isolator, is a component that transfers electrical signals between two isolated circuits by using light. Opto-isolator prevent high voltages from affecting the system receiving the signal. / Channel Identifier distinguishes virtual channels also known as circuits created in a packet/cell switched network. A CI has multiple circuits per communication channel and is primarily used for managing the unique identification of each created circuit. |
