Public Switched Telephone Network, / Public Switched Telephone Network is the concentration of the world's public circuit switched telephone networks. Originally a network of fixed line analog telephone systems, the PSTN is now almost entirely digital, and now includes mobile as well as fixe. / The public switched telephone network is the aggregate of the world's circuit-switched telephone networks that are operated by national, regional, or local telephony operators, providing infrastructure and services for public telecommunication. / Data-Over-Voice is a feature of ISDN which allows for data calls to be placed as if they were voice calls. The reason this is important is that local voice ISDN calls are free, whereas data ISDN calls are charged on a per minute basis. |
