Definition of "Resistor-Transistor Logic" |
[RTL] An out-dated form of logic which used a resistor as the input component, which was connected to the Base of an NPN transistor. A digital logic family that predated Transistor Transistor Logic [TTL]. / Resistor-Transistor Logic is a class of digital circuits built using resistors as the input network and bipolar junction transistors as switching devices. RTL is the earliest class of transistorized digital logic circuit used; other classes include diode–transistor logic and transistor–transistor logic. / Throughput is the amount of work that a computer can do in a given time period. Historically, throughput has been a measure of the comparative effectiveness of large commercial computers that run many programs concurrently. |
