Definition of "Sample Rate" |
The rate at which a signal is sampled. The frequency at which an analog signal is sampled, as in a Digital-to-Analog Converter. See D/A Converter manufacturers, graphic below. / The sampling rate, sample rate, or sampling frequency defines the number of samples per unit of time taken from a continuous signal to make a discrete signal. For time-domain signals, the unit for sampling rate is hertz, sometimes noted as Sa/s or S/s. / It Offer greater distances than line drivers but are more complex and therefore expensive. A baseband modem uses digital signalling technologies instead of FSK, 2B1Q, HDB3, HDSL, etc. This enables extra distance for dedicated connections. |
