Statistical multiplexer refers to a time-division multiplexing technique which involves arbitrarily allocating time slots based on need. It is quite similar to dynamic bandwidth allocation. A statistical multiplexer can be found in digital audio and video broadcasting. / Gaussian noise represents statistical noise having probability density function equal to that of the normal distribution, which is also known as the Gaussian distribution. In other words, the values that the noise can take on are Gaussian-distributed. |
