Definition of "Telemetry" |
An electrical system for measuring a quantity, transmitting the result and than indicating the quantity measured. / Telemetry is the wireless transmission and reception of measured quantities for the purpose of remotely monitoring environmental conditions or equipment parameters. The term is also used in reference to the signals containing such data. / In communications, parity checking refers to the use of parity bits to check that data has been transmitted accurately. The parity bit is added to every data unit,typically seven or eight bits that are transmitted. The parity bit for each unit is set so that all bytes have either an odd number or an even number of set bits. / transmission of instrument readings to a remote location either by wire or by radio. |
