Definition of "Transducer" |
A device to condition and transform a specific physical quantity to a specific variable output electrical signal proportional to the input signal. Typical inputs include variable pressure, level, voltage or current. A transducer must be specifically designed to be compatible with the input/output requirements of the total system. / An instrument that converts shock and vibration or other phenomena to a corresponding electrical or mechanical signal.
