Definition of "Voltage Controlled Oscillator" |
[VCXO] An oscillator that uses a external voltage to tune or change the frequency of the oscillator's output. Also refer to Voltage Controlled Oscillator Manufacturers. / Voltage Controlled Oscillator is an electronic oscillator whose oscillation frequency is controlled by a voltage input. The applied input voltage determines the instantaneous oscillation frequency. Consequently, modulating signals applied to control input may cause frequency modulation or phase modulation. A VCO may also be part of a phase-locked loop. / Data communications equipment refers to computer hardware devices used to establish, maintain and terminate communication network sessions between a data source and its destination. DCE is connected to the data terminal equipment and data transmission circuit to convert transmission signals. / oscillator whose output frequency depends on an input control voltage. |
