Definition of "Voltage-Diode Detector" |
A series-diode detector in which the diode is in series with the input voltage and the load impedance. / The simplest form of envelope detector is the diode detector which is shown above. A diode detector is simply a diode between the input and output of a circuit, connected to a resistor and capacitor in parallel from the output of the circuit to the ground. If the resistor and capacitor are correctly chosen, the output of this circuit should approximate a voltage-shifted version of the original baseband signal. A simple filter can then be applied to filter out the DC component. / Data Service Unit, sometimes called a digital service unit, is a piece of telecommunication circuit terminating equipment that transforms digital data between telephone company lines and local equipment. The device converts bipolar digital signals coming ultimately from a digital circuit and directly from a Channel service unit, into a format compatible with the piece of data terminal equipment to which the data is sent. |
