Circuit contains inductance only. Consider that above complex voltage wave is applied to a circuit that contains inductance only. Since inductive reactance X (= ωL) depends upon frequency,the reactance offered to the fundamental and harmonics will be different. For the fundamental, X1= ωL ; For third harmonic, X3 = 3ωL and for fifth harmonic, X5 = 5ωL.Since in case of pure inductance, current lags behind the voltage by π/2, the various currents will lag behind their respective voltages by π/2. | |
