Light is defined as the radiant energy
from a hot-body which produces the visual
sensation upon the human eye. It is expressed
in lumen-hours. The waves of light travel
with a velocity of 3 x 108 m/sec.
The colour of light depends upon the wave length of radiation. The spectrum of light consists of seven colours, i.e., red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. The wavelength of red colour is 78 x 10-8 metres and of violet colour is 39 x 10-8 metres. | |
