LINEAR INDUCTION MOTOR Introduction A linear induction motor is a special type of induction motor which provides linear Motion and works on the following principle (same as that of conventional induction motor). "Whenever a relative motion occurs between the field and short-circuited conductors, currents are induced in them which results in electro-magnetic forces and under the influence of these forces, according to Lenz's law, the conductors try to move in such a way as to eliminate the induced currents." In this case the field's movement is linear and so is the conductors' movement. | |
