The transformer oil should possess the following properties
High dielectric strength.
Low viscosity to provide good heat transfer
Good resistance to emulsion.
Free from inorganic acid, alkali and corrosive sulphur.
Free from sludging under normal operating comfitions.
High flash/fire point
