Definition of "aperture correction" |
signal compensation used to correct the distortion caused by the non-zero aperture of a scanning electron beam. A standardized measure of the selectivity of a circuit or system. The −3 dB (or half-power) band width is taken to be the difference between the upper (f2) and lower (f1) frequencies where the gain vs.frequency response curve has decreased −3 dB from the passband reference gain. Note that f1 and f2 define the response passband by marking the points at which the output power has decreased to one-half the value of the input power. For band widths extending down to DC, the upper −3 dB frequency is cited as the 3 dB bandwidth. |
