Definition of "Carrier Failure Alarm" |
Carrier Failure Alarm is signal transmitted by an intermediate element of a multi-node transport circuit that is part of a concatenated telecommunication system to alert the receiving end of the circuit that a segment of the end-to-end link has failed at a logical or physical level, even if the system it is directly connected to is still working. / A latch-up is a type of short circuit which can occur in an improperly designed integrated circuit. More specifically it is the inadvertent creation of a low-impedance path between the power supply rails of a MOSFET circuit, triggering a parasitic structure which disrupts proper functioning of the part, possibly even leading to its destruction due to overcurrent. A power cycle is required to correct this situation. |
