Definition of "Cathode Ray Tube" |
An electron beam tube in which the beam can be focused to a small cross section on a luminescent screen and varied in both position and intensity to produce a visible pattern. / The cathode ray tube (CRT) is a vacuum tube containing one or more electron guns (a source of electrons or electron emitter) and a fluorescent screen used to view images. It has a means to accelerate and deflect the electron beam onto the screen to create the images. The images may represent electrical waveforms (oscilloscope), pictures (television, computer monitor), radar targets or others. cathode ray tube have also been used as memory devices, in which case the visible light emitted from the fluorescent material (if any) is not intended to have significant meaning to a visual observer (though the visible pattern on the tube face may cryptically represent the stored data). |
Definition of "Cathode-Ray Tube" |
[CRT] An electron tube that has an electron gun, a deflection system, and a screen. This tube is used to display visual electronic signals. [CRT Graphic] / Cathode-Ray Tube is a specialized vacuum tube in which images are produced when an electron beam strikes aphosphorescent surface. Most desktop computer displays make useof CRTs. The CRT in a computer display is similar to the picture tube in a television receiver. / Longitudinal balance or long balance is a measurement taken on a cable pair while dialed into the quiet termination or with the pair shorted and grounded at the far end, just like we measure PI – CN = Cable Pair Balance. Long balance is measured in dBrn, without the C-Message Filter. |
