Definition of "common collector amplifier" |
(1) a single transistor BJT amplifier in which the input signal is applied to the base terminal, the output is taken from the emitter terminal, and the collector terminal is connected to a constant voltage. Also referred to as an emitter follower, since the voltage gain of this configuration is close to unity (the emitter voltage “follows” the base voltage). |
