Definition of "Electromagnetic Induction" |
The process by which voltage is induced in a conductor by varying the magnetic field so that lines of force cut across the conductor. / The production of a voltage in a coil because of a change in the number of magnetic lines of force (flux linkages) passing through the coil. / Electromagnetic induction is the production of a potential difference voltage across a conductor when it is exposed to a varying magnetic field. It is described mathematically by Faraday's law of induction, named after Michael Faraday who is generally credited with the discovery of induction in 1831. / In the Integrated Services Digital Network, there are two levels of service the Basic Rate Interface, intended for the home and small enterprise, and the Primary Rate Interface, for larger users. Both rates include a number of B-channels and a D-channel. Each B-channel carries data, voice, and other services. The D-channel carries control and signaling information. / voltage produced in a coil due to relative motion between the coil and magnetic lines of force. |
