Definition of "Electromagnetic Interference" |
[EMI] Man-made or natural interference that degrades the quality of reception of radio waves. Any electromagnetic disturbance that interrupts, obstructs, or otherwise degrades or limits the effective performance of electronics/electrical equipment. / A term that describes electrically induced noise or transients, usually at frequencies above 1 MHz. / Electromagnetic Interference is when an electrical disturbance from a natural phenomena example, lightning or ESD or an electrical/electronic device or system causes an undesired conducted or radiated response in a victim. EMI is the opposite of EMC. / A basic telecommunication network is a collection of terminal nodes, links and any intermediate nodes which are connected so as to enable telecommunication between the terminals. |
