Definition of "Emitter Coupled Logic" |
[ECL] See ECL. For more detail on switching speed, ECL circuit diagram and logic family comparisons refer to ECL IC Manufacturers. / Emitter coupled logic is a high-speed integrated circuit bipolar transistor logic family. emitter coupled logic uses an overdriven BJT differential amplifier with single-ended input and limited emitter current to avoid the saturated fully on region of operation and its slow turn-off behavior. / In data networking and queueing theory, network congestion occurs when a link or node is carrying so much data that its quality of service deteriorates. Typical effects include queueing delay, packet loss or the blocking of new connections. A consequence of these latter two is that an incremental increase in offered load leads either only to a small increase in network throughput, or to an actual reduction in network throughput. |
