Definition of "Eye Diagram" |
A display on an oscilloscope or some other display that shows a repeating pattern over top one another so the variation in time of arrival can be ascertained. The resulting opening or the eye [shaded square] between the overlayed waveforms determines time between pulses, or the free space between transmitted pulses. See Intersymbol Interference. / Eye pattern, also known as an eye diagram, is an oscilloscope display in which a digital data signal from a receiver is repetitively sampled and applied to the vertical input, while the data rate is used to trigger the horizontal sweep. / The indicator gives the number of fixed telephone network operator offering local and long-distance national telecommunication and international telecommunication. A fixed line was originally an overland telegraph wire, as opposed to an undersea cable. |
