Definition of "Fault Indicator" |
A component or device that indicates a failure or defect in the equipment being monitored either by audio or visual indication. / A device installed on a conductor to determine if current exceeded the indicator's current rating. Fault indicators sense using use the magnetic field induced by load current. / Fault indicator is a device which provides visual or remote indication of a fault on the electric power system. Also called a faulted circuit indicator, the device is used in electric power distribution networks as a means of automatically detecting and identifying faults to reduce outage time. / In telecommunication, interconnection is the physical linking of a carrier's network with equipment or facilities not belonging to that network. The term may refer to a connection between a carrier's facilities and the equipment belonging to its customer, or to a connection between two carriers. / a small indicating unit equipped with a permanent magnet and pivoting pointer which is hung on a transmission line suffering intermittent faults of unknown origin.
