Definition of "Ferromagnetism" |
Ferromagnetism is due to unbalanced electron spin in the inner electron orbits of the elements concerned giving the atoms a resultant magnetic moment. Ferromagnetic materials have very large magnetic permeabilities which vary with the strength of the applied field. / Ferromagnetism is the basic mechanism by which certain materials (such as iron) form permanent magnets, or are attracted to magnets. |
