Definition of "Frequency Shift Keying" |
Frequency shift keying is a method of transmitting digital signals. The two binary states, logic 0 and 1, are each represented by an analog waveform. Logic 0 is represented by a wave at a specific frequency, and logic 1 is represented by a wave at a different frequency. / Radiolocating is the process of finding the location of something through the use of radio waves. It generally refers to passive uses, particularly radar as well as detecting buried cables, water mains, and other public utilities. It is similar to radionavigation, but radiolocation usually refers to passively finding a distant object rather than actively one's own position. Both are types of radiodetermination. Radiolocation is also used in real-time locating systems for tracking valuable assets. |
Definition of "Frequency-Shift Keying" |
[FSK] Frequency modulation somewhat similar to continuous-wave (cw) keying in AM transmitters. The carrier is shifted between two differing frequencies by opening and closing a key. Frequency modulation in which the modulating signal shifts the output frequency between predetermined values. Frequency modulation between two predetermined discrete values termed the Mark and Space frequencies. |
