Definition of "Ground Bounce" |
Ground bounce refers to the ringing on an output signal when one or more outputs on the same device are being switched from HIGH to LOW. Ground bounce is associated with the inductance and resistance of the ground connection in the integrated circuit. More detailed definition of Ground Bounce. / In electronic engineering, ground bounce is a phenomenon associated with transistor switching where the gate voltage can appear to be less than the local ground potential, causing the unstable operation of a logic gate. / Wireless communication is the transfer of information between two or more points that are not connected by an electrical conductor. / a transient variation in the potential of the ground terminal of a logic device caused by variations in the supply current acting on the ground impedance of the circuit as seen by the device. Usually caused by simultaneous turnon of the pullup and pulldown sections of totem-pole outputs. |
