Elements inseparably associated and formed on or within a single substrate. / A type of circuit in which all the components are integrated on a single silicon chip of very small size. / An electronic circuit formed on a small piece of semiconducting material, which performs the same function as a larger circuit made from discrete components. / Megachips per second is a measure of the speed with which encoding elements, called chips not to be confused with microchips, are generated in Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum signals. This speed is also known as the chipping rate. A speed of 1 Mcps is equivalent to 1,000,000, or 106, chips per second. |
