Definition of "Isochronous" |
Of a periodic signal, pertaining to transmission in which the time interval separating any two corresponding transitions is equal to the unit interval [data is sent at regular intervals] or to a multiple of the unit interval. / A sequence of events is isochronous if the events occur regularly, or at equal time intervals. Isochronous timing differs from synchronous timing, in that the latter refers to relative timing between two or more sequences of events. / An elementary charge is the electrical charge carried by a single electron . This is equivalent, but opposite in polarity , to the electrical charge carried by a proton. By convention, electrons have negative charge, and protons have positive charge. |
