Definition of "Propagation Delay Satellite" |
In a communications system, propagation delay satelite refers to the time lag between the departure of a signal from the source and the arrival of the signal at the destination. This can range from a few nanoseconds or microseconds in local area networks up to about 0.25 s in geostationary-satellite communications systems. / Logarithmic receiver use a linear logarithmic amplifier, commonly called a lin-lig amplifier, instead of a normal IF amplifier. The lin-log amplifier is a nonsaturating amplifier that does not ordinarily use any special gain-control circuits. The output voltage of the lin-log amplifier is a linear function of the input voltage for low-amplitude signals. |
