Definition of "Resonant Frequency" |
The natural frequency of an oscillator. That frequency in a given resonant circuit at which the inductive and capacitive reactance values are equal and cancel each other. / Resonant frequency is the tendency of a system to oscillate with greater amplitude at some frequencies than at others. Frequencies at which the response amplitude is a relative maximum are known as the system's resonant frequencies, or resonance frequencies. At these frequencies, even small periodic driving forces can produce large amplitude oscillations, because the system stores vibrational energy. / The time at which a message is released for transmission. / (1) a frequency at which the input impedance of an device is nonreactive, since the capacitive and inductive stored energy cancel each other. |
