Definition of "RS Latch" |
[Set-Reset Latch] A style of latch where one line sets the latch and the other line resets the latch. Examples include; 74279, 4043, 4044 logic ICs. The SR latch in the graphic uses NAND gates. See also SR NOR gate latch. This type of latch is either called a SR or RS latch, which are used interchangeably. / In electronics, a flip-flop or latch is a circuit that has two stable states and can be used to store state information. A flip-flop is a bistable multivibrator. The circuit can be made to change state by signals applied to one or more control inputs and will have one or two outputs. It is the basic storage element in sequential logic. Flip-flops and latches are a fundamental building block of digital electronics systems used in computers, communications, and many other types of systems. / Quadrature phased shift keying is a form of Phase Shift Keying in which two bits are modulated at once, selecting one of four possible carrier phase shifts. QPSK allows the signal to carry twice as much information as ordinary PSK using the same bandwidth. |
