Definition of "Single-Ended Input" |
An analogue input that is measured with respect to a common earth. Single ended inputs are only suitable for signals that are of good size - 100 mV full scale or above. / A single-ended input has no commond mode range because there is only ONE low wire, which is shared by all inputs. / In electrical signalling an analog current loop is used where a device must be monitored or controlled remotely over a pair of conductors. Only one current level can be present at any time. |
