A 2-terminal device that will conduct in either direction once a specific voltage level is reached. A Transient Voltage Suppressor [TVS]. Two back-to-back diodes. A device used to protect equipment from a voltage spikes. Also refer to AC Surge Suppressor Devices, and UPS gear. / A surge protector or surge suppressor is an appliance designed to protect electrical devices from voltage spikes. A surge protector attempts to limit the voltage supplied to an electric device by either blocking or by shorting to ground any unwanted voltages above a safe threshold. / The Ka band covers the frequencies of 26.5–40 GHz. The Ka band is part of the K band of the microwave band of the electromagnetic spectrum. This symbol refers to K-above in other words, the band directly above the K-band. |
