Definition of "three-wire method" |
in the three-wire method, the remote resistor (which plays the role of active gauge) is connected to the bridge circuit by three wires. One end of this resistor is connected by one wire to the bridge power supply node; at another end of the resistor there are two wires, the first of which is connected to the detector and the second is to the adjacent resistor of the bridge. Other arrangements are possible as well. The goal is to reduce the errors introduced by the long wires while measuring the remote resistor value. |
